Estepona, a town of about
45,000 inhabitants, is situated on the Western Costa del Sol between
Marbella and Manilva at the foot of the Sierra Bermeja mountains,
about 80 kilometres west of Málaga. Its location is so central
that places like the Puerto de la Duquesa in Manilva, Puerto Banús
and Marbella are within a short drive. Moreover, Málaga International
Airport is only a 45 minute drive away.
Its mild climate and magnificent beaches have helped Estepona to
become one of the most popular tourist destinations. Some of the
best hotels and restaurants on the Costa del Sol can be found in
Estepona and numerous well-known golf courses are located in close
proximity. However, Estepona is not a typical tourist town as the
town centre has preserved its old, typical Andalusian style of architecture
and there are many little squares where people sit outside on a
bench or outside one of the typical Spanish Cafés.
